Impact HUB Boulder
Mission: Hire two new community Hosts to help shape and curate the dynamic Impact HUB Boulder environment.
Sixteen exceptional candidates participated in the Groundwork process in order to determine the best fits for two open Host positions. The three-hour workshop helped to identify the two top candidates, as well as deliver the message that Impact HUB Boulder is
not your everyday workplace.
Test Drive: Adventure Forward
Mission: Identify new opportunities for fundraising in keeping with the spirit of using adventure for good.
Groundwork brought together a diverse group of participants to create new ways to effectively reach investors using a taste of adventure.
Channel Maven Consulting
Mission: Identify key strengths and competencies for new Channel Maven team members
Groundwork assisted Channel Maven in vetting the skills and cultural fit for new Channel Maven team members. Three exercises were conducted to better reveal the abilities of nine job candidates.
Test Drive: Listening Impact
Mission: Identify product offerings and strategy going forward
The Groundwork team connected with Listening Impact to help clarify product and service offerings, and to offer strategies for sales and implementation. 15 Groundworkers came together to experience Listening Impact's compelling offerings and help develop a vision for the future.
The Experiential Career Fair
Mission: Redesign the Career Fair experience to be more indicative of real world strengths and competencies
Groundwork partnered with Impact HUB Boulder, CU Net Impact Club and the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship to produce our first large-scale Experiential Career Fair. 12 employers and roughly 45 job seekers attended and worked through challenges in order to showcase those who worked well in a team, held up under pressure, communicated effectively and were able to think on their feet.
Test Drive: Good Day Chocolate
Mission: Create a momentum/growth strategy given uncommon constraints
Groundwork facilitated the creation of temporary momentum/growth strategies for Good Day Chocolate, under the constraints imposed by a changing supply chain. 16 attendees formulated 4 roadmaps for momentum, while also helping Good Day Chocolate visualize their ideal target demographics.
Test Drive: Sanitas Brewing Company
Mission: Define community outreach in a crowded microbrewery market
16 people joined Groundwork to use experiential hiring activities to hack through some of the challenges facing this startup brewery. The team identified dozens of unique channels to help Sanitas Brewing stand out in the local marketplace. We've also got word that some of these problem-solving exercises have been adopted in other businesses around town!
Mission: Narrow the field of high-potential job seekers from 14 to 4
Groundwork designed a half-day workshop to assist Agility Solutions in determining which 4 candidates in a field of 14 provided the best cultural fit and range of skills best suited for the organization. Key attributes were: problem solving ability, communication skills, teamwork, critical thinking and writing proficiency.

Sunrise Series: Snowgate
Mission: Identify new markets and customer acquisition strategies
Groundwork designed a Sunrise Series workshop around the generation of new markets for Snowgate's innovative phone-activated locker systems. Snowgate provides unique storage solutions for highly active individuals, and the Sunrise Series workshop generating a long list of possibilities, as well as future business contacts.
Sunrise Series: Spark Boulder
Mission: Establish key components of fundraising strategy and strategies for interfacing with the University
Groundwork took on Spark Boulder's challenge of developing a fundraising strategy by channeling a wide variety of value propositions, key players and collection methods in order to determine those most feasible. A new coworking space on University Hill, Spark is intended for a wide cross-section of college students interested in entrepreneurship of all types. Also examined was Spark's interface with the University of Colorado, as the space is intended to be unafilliated with the University.
Sunrise Series: Jack Reynolds
Mission: Identify non-traditional ways to grow brand following
Groundwork's team worked on brand-building strategies for Jack Reynolds--a brand that inspires people to lead rich, fulfilled lives by stepping out of their comfort zones. Specific goals were the creation of a large following using non-traditional and non-costly means (ie: bootstrapping).
